Katie and I watched Ender's Game with some friends at a REAL movie theater tonight. It was our first official date in many months, I think (if you don't count temple trips). I really wanted to like it, but I think that since I first read the book when I was 14, and have re-read it 3 or 4 times, I couldn't help but notice changes from the story. Granted, I think they did a very good job given the limited parameters of the movie format. I would have probably liked it more if I hadn't read the book, but then again maybe the movie wouldn't have made any sense.

I liked the movie. I tried to read the book and it did not appeal to me. I think because I didn't really understand what was going on. It was easier to understand when I could see the big picture (literally). I'm going to try and read it again.
I love Ender's Game, but purposely didn't reread it right before going to see the movie because I knew it would just make me more irritated that the movie was not as good as the book (because lets face it...the movie is never as good as an excellent book.) I want to re-read Ender's Game again, but it's unlikely to happen before Christmas.
I have no nice words to say about Ender's Game (the movie) right now. Except maybe that Petra's hair was pretty rad.
