Oh, for some reason I thought everyone knew about this song. My mom used to sing it to us while doing the actions with her hand on our backs.

"Line, dot, X marks the spot.
Up goes the spider, down goes the spider.
Up goes the snake, down goes the snake.
Cool breeze! [blow]
Tight squeeze! [hug]
Now you feel good all over!"

I just googled it and I just found A LOT of different variations, such as:

"Criss Cross Applesauce
Spiders crawling up your back
One here, one there
Spiders crawling on your hair
Tight squeeze
Cool breeze
Now you’ve got the shivers!"

or

"Going on a treasure hunt,
X marks the spot
Dot dash dot dash dot dash dot.
Spider crawling up your back, Spider crawling down your back, Spider crawling up your back, bites you on the neck.
Snake sliding up your back, snake sliding down your back, Snake sliding up your back, bites you on the neck
Cool breeze, Tight squeeze
Somebody grabs you, somebody stabs you
Have you got the shivereies?"

or even

"mark an x on your back
and a dot in the middle
crack an egg on yo head
let the yolk run up let the yolk run down let the yolk run all around
stab a knife in yo back let he blood run up let the blood run down let the blood run all around
cool breeze tight squeeze"

I had no idea how gruesome this song could be...

This is probably my favorite post of the day!! I do this on Mark's back to help him wake up in the mornings. It usually doesn't work...
